Hey guys,
We've been very unactive, thus this is a very unsuccessful blog. But basically I'm just going to go over some minor updates. We're running out of ideas for the blog so please suggest some.
Lilac is a very happy ratty, and cheerful as always. I have recently gotten a 10 1/2 week old-11 week old Red Heeler puppy. His name is Milo and he has a beautiful coat with gorgeous colors, if I do say so myself. He's around 9 pounds.
We got him from the local Humane Society. He's adorable and his ears hang perfectly over his head. He's a goofball and he enjoys Jungle-Miloing. He runs through the ivies and flowers and likes to hop through the taller sorts of grasses.
He loves to cuddle. He's really fast, being a cattle dog, but his legs are stubby and he's super tiny. He's unsuccessfully trying to make friends with older brother. He looks dapper in his green color with squirrels.
So anyways, I've been caught up in Horse Back Riding, and I've been really excited about my new stuff. If anyone out there is a boot sock hoarder, I am too. Also, new Half Chaps smell great. ;-)
G'day maties,

Oopsies
Alright, so I just realized I remember the password to get into this account. I admit, I had forgot the password, thus making me absent on this blog. I'm officially out for the summer, so I'll post more often.
Lilac is doing great, and she's chirpy and a very happy ratty. She's getting pretty old, though, and I wish she had a human's lifespan... I love my

I'm posting more soon, and stuff that you actually want to read for your rats' or rat's sake,

Homemade Peanut Rat Treats!
Okay, I know neither me, nor Marin have done a post in a while, and we're sorry. Schoolwork and other things are taking up a lot of time and we have less time to write.
Mini Peanut butter treats!
Materials:
Peanut Butter
Almond Milk (unsweetened)
Piping Bag
Star tip (optional)
Ground up almond (optional)
Freezer
Wax Paper
Directions:
In a bowl, mix together peanut butter, and almond milk. I did not give a specific amount, because it really varies on how much you need to make and your preferred consistency. When you have added the proper amount of almond milk, the peanut butter should be the texture of thick pudding. If you would like, you could add some crushed up almond into the bowl, your rats will love you either way.
After you have thoroughly mixed the ingredients, scoop the peanut butter\ almond milk into a pastry bag. If you are like me, and you need everything to look cute, use a pretty star tip with the pastry bag. Lay out a sheet of wax paper and using the piping bag, make little drops of the mixture about a quarter of an inch apart. Note that the treats should not be made too big, because rats can only have so much peanut butter.
After you are done, put the wax paper in the freezer and let the treats freeze overnight. When the treats are frozen, serve one or two to your rats. Make sure to leave the treats in the freezer if not being consumed by your rat. Do not give the rats a treat if it is slightly melty, only serve if frozen.
I hope you (and your rats) enjoy this recipe!

Walnut and corn crumble for the rats :-)
Hey guys!
So I've been playing around lately, and I've come up with a recipie that I suppose could be a rat sized walnut and corn pie.
This recipie is favored among my rats. I hope your rat love it as well.:-)
By the way, the crumbles have a crumbly texture, do not expect a perfect crumble xd
This recipie makes two small pie crumbles.
Ingredients
1/2 cup of crushed plain cheerios (Finley crushed)
2 TBS of water
Tin foil
40 kernels of crushed dried corn (roughly crushed)
1/4 cup (for pie plate mould)
A little more than 1 TBS of chopped walnuts
2 1/2 tsp of grape juice
1 TBS of water
For the crust:
In a small bowl, combine the crushed cheerios, with
The 2 TBS of water mix well, the mixture should be a moist spongey
Texture.
Take the 1/4 cup and tinfoil. Make a thick square with the tinfoil, and
Set it evenly on top of the 1/4 cup and press down. Firmly press the edges into the cup, until the tinfoil resembles the shape of the cup. Do this twice.
Scoop the crust into the tins and push it in to the bottom and sides.
For the filling
Take walnuts and grape juice then crunch together, add some water and a few extra ground Cheerios to the mix. Scoop into the pie plates.
Cook for 12-14 minutes at 350 ˚
Remember people this food is for rats, not humans they don't expect it to look beautiful. So you shouldn't either.
Cut up in to tiny ( and I mean tiny) pieces, serve to your rats (I suggest one small slice per day) make sure you let the pie cool before serving.

Midnight
Hello,
Last night my Midnight passed away in my arms. Strike three for Petco. I hope Midnight is peaceful now, and I was happy to be taking them out right out at the moment she needed me the most, to comfort her and tell her it's okay.
I miss Midnight, and today I'm going to be shopping for a rat-sized teddy bear for Lilac to love on, I won't be getting her an adopted sissy. I just hope that Lilac likes the teddy bear as much as Midnight.
XOXO

THE WONDERS OF RATS
Honestly...
Writing this one will be no sweat, I have a lot of things bursting in my mind about how amazing rats are, BUT, I don't want to be sitting here for eternity.
So first of all,
Rats are amazing, adorable, smart, sweet, cuddly animals that just want love.
The reason rats are not the most common pets are the tails. I mean, let's be honest, at first the tails look a little creepy, and this might sound creepy and weird, but their tails really have a lot of personality.
Once you get a rat, I swear, you will forget about the tails and think that the tails are a little piece of heaven. (They are.)
Rats, where do I start? Rats sit on your shoulder and watch T.V. with you. Rats come when their called. Rats race up to you when you walk in the door. I mean, when have you seen any other rodent do that? Rats are bursting with personality. Rats cuddle when it's rainy, takes walks with you when it's sunny. Rats will make your day.
So, guys. Please set their tails aside and look at rats. They are the sweetest and cutest. So what if it's hairless? I think hairless rats are pretty darn cute.
They are little bundles of joy, licking your faces and thanking you for a home...
So please consider rescuing likely snake food, and it's doing you a favor, too.
Hairless or not, legless or not, blind or not, rats are awesome. Pure awesome.
XOXO,
*Marin*

Clara and Marin's famous homestyle RAT CAKE!!!!
Yes...
It's time...
I dare you to scroll....
You still there? Okay, good. I can tell your really commited to this.
The title is really self explanatory.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Peanut Butter
Water
Teaspoon
A tiny bowl
A tiny bit of cheese for presentation (My rats adore cheese, (It's Marin) (Parentheses within parentheses within parentheses?) it's okay if your rats don't eat it, just don't put too much or they will get a tummyache)
A basil leaf for even more presentation
A microwave
Rats
You're still there... I'm really proud. :D
So how do you make it?
I know.
You don't.
Haha.
You know?
I'll tell you.
Just don't tell anyone.
Okay?
Wait...
Tell them,
About RandomlyRats
Okay?
Good.
How do you make it?
I know.
You don't.
But I guess I'll tell.
Put 2 spoonfuls of peanut butter in the tiny bowl.
If it gets too thick, add a teaspoon of water and mix gently.
Continue to add water.
Crumple and add reasonable proportions of things your rat might like. (Like crunched up cheerios or peanuts, nothing to junky.)
Add more peanut butter.
Heat in the microwave for 1 minute.
Stir, and add some cheese or something.
Put in the microwave for 30 seconds.
Put cheese in the corner as neatly as you can, this is for presentation.
Get a pretty basil leaf and gently top it on the cheese.
Put it in the fridge for about an hour.
Feast.
XOXO
